MISA employes three full-time professional staff with qualifications and experience in both Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol work. From time to time MISA also uses consultants who are specialised in specific areas.
Diana Marshall Team Leader My career as a registerted nurse and counsellor in Drug &/or Alcohol and Mental Health expands for over the past 15 years.I have worked both in private and public detoxification and rehabilitations services as well as acute mental health clinics. I have extensive knowledge of the complexities surrounding consumers with Dual Diagnosis and the difficulties they experience in gaining some support in the community and services.
My experience of working both in individual and group counselling has been enhanced by my recent completion of a Masters Degree in Gestalt Therapy. The modalities of Gestalt therapy have influenced my style of working with consumers who are living with a dual diagnosis. My approach is that of authenticity,compassion and a flexible manner.I have the belief that with hope and support, consumers who are living with a dual diagnosis may enjoy a greater sense of empowerment and perhaps an optimal healthier lifestyle.
Dhwani Franco has a background in Social Work and worked in mental health for several years. She has also had a career as a masseuse, specializing in relaxation techniques and stress management. In recent years she has been studying ceramics and is very interested in bringing all creative art forms to her work. Mostly she comes with lots of enthusiasm and love.
Kaveh Khan has a background in psychology from Europe and has been a D&A counsellor in Australia for 12 years. He has experience in mental health, having worked in psychiatric facilities for 7 years. Kaveh has extensive experience with dual-diagnosis clients and is inspired to offer them effective support in managing their condition.
